for all of you loyal visitors......thank you so much for checking in after all this time! i had to step away. kinda nice that i can do that and very necessary. sometimes i just can't keep up the pace i set for myself and certain things on "my to do list" go by the way side. i also needed a creative break and feel refreshed and ready to come out of hiding. i can't promise new images everyday. it is winter around here and clients are not knocking my door down....but hopefully soon that will change.

this little pink wonder i would like to introduce to you is maggie. girls just look good in pink. and i must mention...that her lovely locks are the talk of town.

so i love to go see live music. once i heard sara bareilles was in town, i knew what had to be done. elle loves sara bareilles. once i planted the seed in my husband's head it was over. we were going to a concert! last nite was a hit and sara was brilliant and i think elle had a great time. i loved glancing over at my beauty of a daughter seeing the lights in her eyes as she was mouthing the words to her favortite songs. simple pleasures. it was a late nite....as you can see. btw, the opening band was great. check out Raining Jane.

(i am stealing that play on words and have always wanted to use it and now found my chance). i was truly impressed by this young lady. we had great conversations. we talked about the senior photo experience as a right of passage. life is full of milestones and for a young adult, this is one of them. i enjoy these shoots more than i thought i would. it was such a pleasure spending the afternoon with her.

here's a a wedding from a few weeks ago. you might recognize the lovely couple from a past entry where the night before the bride & groom hosted a lovely backyard party for friends and family. but here they're all dressed up!! they exchanged vows in the olympic scultpture park in dtwn seattle. quite a dramatic setting, i liked the change and the challenge. i think the day went without a hitch, just perfect just right. noah and jessie.....congratulations! it was a pleasure and an honor!

this shoot was a treat. i was invited out by the granddaughter to photograph their son at his great grandparents river/lake house. the moment i arrived i knew we were going to get some good ones. both mom and dad couldn't have been more at ease, sweet as can be...new parents that seem to fit their new role of parents quite easily. nate couldn't have been cuter. i totally enjoyed seeing the generations together in such a special spot.

today was such a great day! i just couldn't stop taking photos of these luscious twins.....it was like the planets were aligned or something. the babes were such a joy to photograph. i pushed hard and they, as well as mama, remained sweet as can be...good good babies. this queen mama ( i refer to her as such b/c she has 4 children under 4) is AMAZING. she just rolls with it, i love how relaxed she is. thanks for reminding me what's important!

we packed the car last weekend and headed out to find our christmas tree in cle elum. when we arrived at our destination it was like we were in our very own snow globe. we met up with some great friends and had a ball...a snowball! it snowed and snowed and snowed!! our outing was a success, we brought home our very own "charlie brown christmas tree" ! we love our tree with all its imperfections and funny little skinny limbs. perfect!

my husband kinda sorta put me in a corner.....but it was all for love. he owns his own design firm in spokane, nystrom, olson, collins, and asked me to photograph his first residential project. which by the way is amazing. so proud.....anyway, i thought it was too much too soon for me. when it came down to crunch time, even though i clearly said "i'm not your gal" he had me shoot the property. all is well and in the end it was a privilege to photograph his work. its always good to reach out of your comfort zone.....right?!? check it out, don't you want to live there?

one of my many favorite parts of my job is getting invited into people's homes. i am married to a designer/architect and he's rubbed off on me, i appreciate all things surrounding the "house" so to speak. this of course includes all who dwell within and the way everyone inhabits the home. anyway, i am seeing some pretty cool things out there and it is such a pleasure to take photos in places with such character and beauty. this shoot was no exception! but i must say... these children could be anywhere and look adorable.

so with this shoot, i think summer is officially over. i was excited to receive this call b/c it wasn't a typical request for a family portrait shoot, i made sure i could squeeze them in before the leaves started to change. they wanted me to take photos of them playing in their wonderful back yard complete with a waterfall and swimming pool! i had a great time and it was fun to change it up a bit!

i spent my sunday enjoying a day out at the spokane polo field documenting the 3rd annual fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House. what a day and what an event.... it was most enjoyable! there was so much eye candy. the food, the horses, the hats!! it is truly a unique event, one that i suggest you attend next year. anything benefiting the lives of children who are in need is worth all this effort. polo is quite the game i might add! i am overly impressed with the men and women who can tackle such a sport, i can't imagine the coordination, strength, and athleticism that it requires. i am so happy i could be a part of such a wonderful and lovely day!

yet another beautiful family! i had a moment during this shoot when i jumped up and down because the light was so good and things were clicking! i think this cutie was just making sure she had her two big toes! kids give me such great material!!
